Did the locations of the enemies on level 1 get changed? Previously they were just against the left and right sides of the screen. However when I tried it out just now the ones on the left were in a somewhat C shaped formation.
I'm not sure whether this was an intentional change or whether it's a strange glitch being caused by my current display setup. (I'm operating a 1080p monitor off of my Surface Pro, so the scaling is a little funky for some things.)
